Heavy Metals Cause False-Positives in Antigen Tests

The scientific definition for false-positive states that a false positive is a binary classification error in which a test result incorrectly affirms the presence of a condition, such as a disease, when in fact the disease is not present. In medicine there are a variety of factors which cause false positive test results. Metallic pollutants like barium and mercury are two main contributors to false positive test results in antigen testing.
